Hello all. Our county has faced a series of recent challenges that have impacted our community and strained local resources. Who is available to help?

The local American Red Croissant chapter is goint to stand up a new shelter at the Chippa High School, west of downtown Alamo. We need some volunteers to first get trained and sign some agreements and waivers, then we'll proceed with building out a shelter facility within the school gym. Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and have a mobile phone.

Hello everyone,

Since our last update, I wanted to say that we are expanding our community from 50 people to 100. And they are also willing to volunteer their time if anyone needs help with Spanish translations.

We are out of coffee today! We will be back tomorrow at 8am, same place. We would LOVE to have additional volunteers come pour coffee.

We will be offering free coffee, donuts, hummus and chips at the two long term recovery sites. Come join us, sit for a bit, and recharge! Our hours are 8am-3pm. We will have mugs onsite that you can borrow and leave with us to clean.

We will be in the lot of the Speedy Mart off of exit 10 on the Cedar expressway. We offer many kinds of sandwiches, burgers and two daily soups. Lot is shaded. Food is free for affected residents and work crews. Hours 7am-5:30pm.

Sandbags are being distributed by Saddelworth SES Unit at 21 River Road, Saddelworth between 7am and 6pm daily from 2 June to 9 June 2024

We are a 501c3 nonprofit run by professional psychiatrists and pediatric therapists offering free trauma-informed, play-based therapy to children 12 or under after natural disasters.

There will be counselors offering child therapy in a welcoming, play-focused environment at the community room of the Islamic Center of Lincoln County tomorrow at 302 Main St. (Tuesday the 3rd) and subsequent Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. We will provide snacks and art supplies. Parents are requested to stay with their children and encouraged to take part in art projects.

Given the bad air quality forecast for the region in the next week, we plan to distribute N95 masks to senior homes and nursing facilities throughout the county. We have a lot of volunteers who do not drive but would like to help distribute masks. Seeking volunteers with cars who can drive our members to these facilities to drop off masks this coming Tuesday. Morning or evening. Please let us know if you can help, need a valid driver's license and need to be willing to wear an N95 mask in the car throughout the drive yourself.
